Westbrook Galleries' historic segment specializes in American art from the late 19th through mid 20th century, including Early California, Modernism, Post War Abstract Expressionism, Bay Area Figurative and Berkeley Schools. On occasion we also have special French modernist works and other unique finds. The style of our collection ranges from traditional to modern, but the underlying focus is the same - we offer noteworthy works by artists who have made significant contributions to American and European art history. We are also privileged to represent some of these artists who continue to contribute to the arts in careers that span several decades including John Grillo, Karl Kasten, Robert Natkin, Dennis Hare, Brook Temple and Roland Petersen. Westbrook Galleries' contemporary segment represents a select group of early and mid-career artists who rank among the top in their fields, including Brian Blood, Laurie Kersey, David Dalton, Kim Frohsin and Sam Nejati. All have been reviewed in major periodicals and many have a long list of awards and are included in very important collections, including permanent museum collections. Whether you are a seasoned collector or just venturing out into the world of fine art, when you work with us you will feel comfortable, informed, and ultimately proud of the works you place in your home. We take the time to inform you from our own knowledge and experience and from our library of reference books and periodicals. We can share with you our methods for creating a collection - large or small - that will stand the test of time. If you would like to stay informed as to what's new in inventory and our upcoming events, please visit our guestbook and let us know how to reach you. |
